Sign me up! How do I book a session with you?

Email me using the Contact form, specifying the service you're interested in. We will exchange emails in which I will ask you personalized questions regarding your request and set up a meet-and-greet. I like to meet before the session (new clients only), therefore same day or next day appointments are unlikely. This allows us to ensure a good match as well as reduce any initial unease you may have about starting your healing journey!

What happens in a Platonic Touch session?

For our session I use scented (typically lavender) candles and relaxing music, all of which can travel with me and are subject to your preferences. Please allow yourself time before the start of the session to clear your mind of stressful thoughts (ie MTA!).

After initial greetings, you may use my bathroom to change into comfortable clothes (think about what you would wear in front of your parents on a lazy Sunday). I will do the same if traveling to you, to ensure a fresh, pleasant experience!

We will begin the session by creating a consensual agreement together and going through a couple of brief exercises to promote our ongoing, open communication. Learning how to hone your communication skills when it comes to what you want (or don’t) is one of the most exciting aspects of this work for me, and I want to make sure you get the most out of your time!

A gentle alarm will sound 10 minutes before the end of the session, signaling the final five minutes.

What is Oxytocin, and why do I want it?

Oxytocin is a neuropeptide hormone produced in the hypothalamus. It gets released into your bloodstream by the posterior pituitary gland when these cells are triggered by as little as 20 SECONDS of social bonding. This leads to a decrease in stress-causing cortisol and norepinephrine, and a surge in serotonin and dopamine production; the effects of which can last up to 24 hours!

For more on the benefits of oxytocin, click here. You can also check out the Additional Resources page.

What is Reiki, anyway?

Reiki can be defined as Spiritually Guided Life Energy (from "Rei" meaning "spiritual consciousness and "Ki," or life energy). It is a holistic energy practice that facilitates healing through a process called, "entrainment," by which things align their movement and energy together to match in rhythm and pace. Everything wants to be in harmony. (This is why metronomes in a room will sync, crickets chirp in unison, nearby heartbeats sync, and menstrual cycles sync.) In a session, the practitioner acts as a channel to conduct the spiritually guided life energy into the body of the receiver.

When you are feeling down and out (physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually) you vibrate at a lower frequency. Because of the interconnectedness of all things, in a Reiki session, your frequency rises to match that of the practitioner who is channeling Life Force Energy, thereby allowing healing to occur naturally and safely.

More info on how Reiki works can be found here and on the Additional Resources page.

What can I expect in a Reiki session?

For our session I use scented (typically lavender) candles, incense, and relaxing music; all of which can travel with me and are subject to your preferences. Please allow yourself time before the start of the session to clear your mind of stressful thoughts (ie MTA!). For Reiki, a change of clothes is not necessary. You will remain fully clothed, with shoes off.

We will begin the session with a brief chat regarding what has brought you in for the session. This can be as vague or specific as you feel comfortable with! Sometimes just owning what you're feeling is the catalyst you need for healing; it also gives me areas to focus on for the session.

Throughout the session, you may experience internal, vibrational sensations in/around your energy centers as the stagnant energy is shifting. Try to focus on deep breathing as these sensations are typically indicative of working "through" a blockage.

Code of Conduct

Please be sure to read the Code of Conduct before requesting a session.

Can I book and pay online?

Eventually, yes! However for now, please email me to book a session. I accept cash or Venmo as payment.

Can I drive there or should I take public transportation?

Parking can sometimes be a challenge, but I live close to several subway and bus lines in Downtown Brooklyn. If you choose to drive, please be sure to allow extra time for parking.

Worth noting...

I have a short-haired cat, but he is very shy and *should* stay out of sight for the duration of your session.
